English via Skype

Hello!
I'm going to launch a series of English classes via Skype. This idea came to my mind thanks to my visitors' comments. Before I really start those classes, are there any shortfalls of such classes I should avoid and counteract?
Do you have any experience in learning English via Skype?
Any remarks how to make remote teaching more effective?

I've learned a different language than English via skype and I must say it wasn't as effective as having someone sitting next to you and explaining everything live. But it wasn't that bad though. Sorry but I kinda have no ideas how to approve it and make it effective. Anyways, good luck!
