RAIN on PARADE
2013-08-18 @ 13:00:53
Hello!
How are you today? How has been your weekend so far?
I hope you are enjoying yourself. I do not want to rain on your parade but the weekend is almost over.

Recently I have found a new English idiom which maybe you will find useful.

rain on someone's parade - to spoil someone's plans or pleasure, to spoil something for someone

As you see, it does not regard rain or parade. Below you find few examples how to use it.

1. I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but you're not allowed to have food or drinks in the theater.

2. I missed a train and then lost my wallet but it didn't rain on my parade. I had the time of my life last weekend.

3. I hate to rain on your parade, but your plans are all wrong.

So, I hope nothing has rained on your parade this weekend and you are having a good time.

Take care! Bye!
