Tomasz Sikora - (born December 21, 1973 in Wodzisław Śląski) is a Polish biathlete.

He was world champion in 1995 (20 km), runner-up in world championships in 2004 (also 20 km) and bronze medalist in 1997 (team competition).

On February 25, 2006 he placed second in the 15km mass start at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, winning the second and final medal for Poland in those Olympics.

On March 23 2006 Sikora won the IBU World Cup sprint title, beating Ole Einar Bjørndalen by 5 points.

Robert Kubica - (born December 7, 1984 in Kraków, Poland) is the first Polish racing driver to compete in Formula One. From 2006 he has driven for the BMW Sauber F1 team, promoted from test driver to race driver during 2006. In June 2008, Kubica took his maiden F1 victory in the chaotic Canadian Grand Prix, becoming the 99th driver to win a World Championship race. From the 2010 season, Kubica will be racing for Renault.

Marcin Gortat - (born February 17, 1984 in Łódź), also known as the Polish Hammer, is a Polish professional basketball player in the NBA for the Orlando Magic. A 6'11" and 240 lb center, he is the son of boxer Janusz Gortat. He was a second-round draft choice of the Phoenix Suns in the 2005 NBA Draft and was traded for future cash considerations to the Magic. Gortat started his career in ŁKS Łódź, then he played 3 seasons in RheinEnergie Cologne in Germany's Basketball Bundesliga. RheinEnergie Cologne won the domestic championship in 2006.
